Jesse's done it again, he was in yesterday's issue of The West Valley View!! The day after we appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, we got a call from Rich Ott (from the West Valley View), saying he saw us on Letterman and was interested in doing a story on us =o) I sent in a picture of Jesse in NYC, and one of us sitting in David Letterman's chair on The Late Show, and they were featured in the paper! So here are some pictures of my little star and his paper ;o)
You can download and read the full article at http://www.westvalleyview.com/
So sorry we haven't updated about our trip to New York City, or replied to all of our e-mails, we have been super busy! We will try and update as much as we can, but are headed out to California next week =o)

Mighty Dog Nation: The Movie Filming and Commercial!!

Meet Mighty Dog Jesse!! Star of Mighty Dog Nation: The Movie premiering in 2010!
Filming for Mighty Dog Nation: The Movie!!
September 18th, 2009 was the filming shoot for Mighty Dog Nation: The Movie!! It was so much fun, and I am so proud of my little Mighty Dog Jesse =o) The camera crew came to our house the day before to meet Jesse, go over some of the scenes, and do a walkthrough of the house, and boy were there TONS of people! Jesse was super excited to greet them all, and did the Budkin-dance =o) He even performed some of his tricks for them. They were all super friendly, and we couldn’t wait to get started with the taping! So the next day, the local production crew came to our house a few hours earlier to set up in our garage, and to meet Jesse (they didn’t come the previous day). I did some last minute grooming on Jesse, and then we were ready to start the filming!
The first scene we decided to tape was Jesse on the bed, looking out the front window watching over the house. So the camera crew set up in the bonus room, and I stood off to the left, and cued him to put his paws up on the window ledge. They wanted him to watch the postman deliver a package. So they had the “postman” on a mark, and cued him to start walking. Jesse put his paws up on the ledge, and watched him go by =o) Then he was supposed to jump off from the ledge as soon as the postman walks out of scene. After we got this scene down, we headed out to the front door to start the filming of Jesse looking for me returning from the store. Jesse put his paws up on the front window seal, and they wanted him to look out and as I returned, come outside to pick-up the package, and bring it inside. So they shot this scene in different sections. Ashley was my double, as I cued Jesse =o) Jesse did absolutely wonderful! Then we shot the scenes of Jesse shutting the door, then dropping a package by “my” feet (double Ashley!). After we got this scene, we set Jesse up on a tape mark so they could get some Head Shots, and Barking pictures. They even got some of Jess taking a bow =o)
Their camera is awesome! I saw some of the shots they took, and was really impressed. I wish I had a camera like that one =o) Then we headed out to the backyard to get some video and shots of Jesse barking at Kaine, as if to say he isn’t afraid of him =o) They did absolutely wonderful! So Kaine got his own little cameo too, Ashley was very happy!! Then they taped Jesse patrolling the yard. He added his own twist to it; when I set him up on his mark and released him, he put his paws up on the gate, and peered out through the bars at the park!! =o) Then he “patrolled” the back gate. They then set up a camera man on the outside of the gate to get a close up of Jesse peering through the gate. He was super cute!
Next they wanted Jesse patrolling around the wood pile, so I asked Jess, “Where are the lizards?” and he went to searching for them!
Jesse took a Mighty Power Nap while the crew set up for another scene.
After he rested for a bit, we taped Jesse shutting the front door again so they could have a night scene as well. Then we went back to the bonus room window for a night scene of Jesse looking frantically around for a mysterious creature in the front yard. I was on the outside of the window this time, and Jesse really wanted to get to me, so they got this seen pretty quickly. We took a dinner break and had some pizza. This time ‘lil Budkin didn’t sleep, he chewed on a wholesome hide. They set up cameras in the Bonus Room to do an Interview with me and Jesse. Then once the interview was done, they wanted to tape Jesse’s sound effects. So everyone was cued to be super quiet since they were now taping sound. We went into the living room, and I cued Jesse to speak, then growl, then a lower speak, and we added some grunts and whines in there too =o) Then we headed into the backyard to tape some more sound effects. I cued Jess to perform the same effect inside, and then they wanted Jesse walking around on the rocks by himself. So I lured him around on the rocks for his own feet sounds =o) Once they got Jesse’s sound effects, we headed to the front yard! They were filming a scene of the mysterious night creature, so I sat on the curb watching with Jess in my lap. Then Jess was up! The scene they needed was Jesse running from around the house to scare off the intruder. They lit the area with a fake street lamp, and put a palm in the view. It looked really cool! So I set Jesse up in the shadows, and cued him to come running out, and he had to stop and look around. It took a few takes, but Jesse did it =o) Then they taped him looking regal, with the light reflecting on his face and him looking intensely into the distance. He sat up on his own, and they loved that! Then they wanted Jesse to walk backwards into the shadow he came from. Then they wanted him to do some tricks on the rocks, so he twirled and did his beautiful Motion! (Hand stand walking). We finally finished taping everything, and they were very impressed with Jesse. I was super impressed with how wonderful he performed with all the people, and cameras. My dad took a picture of some of the crew at the end of the day. Most of the crew already left, but there were still lots for the group shot! Ashley took a picture of the crew set up in the garage. They had a ton of equipment! By the end of the taping, Jesse and I were EXHAUSTED! The whole day Jesse was alert, and didn’t want to miss anything. He kept looking at me as if saying, “Ready to Work! What’s next?” That's a Jack Russell Terrier for ya!! =o) But I wouldn't have it any other way ;o) We curled up on the couch, and fell asleep =o)
I am so proud of my little Mighty Dog Jesse, and can’t wait to see the commercial which will be airing on Thanksgiving Day, and the Movie which will be premiering in 2010! =0) Everyone was so nice, and we had such a wonderful time. We had so much fun working with everyone!
~Heather and Jesse~
P.S. Jesse and I didn't have much time to rest before we were flown out 3 days later to New York City to perform on the Late Show with David Letterman! Jesse performed his suitcase trick for the segment "Stupid Pet Tricks" I am going to be updating Jesse's website about our trip to New York City, and will be Blogging on here about it soon too =o) We had so much FUN!

Petsmart Poster Pup!!

Jesse and I were walking around Petsmart, and boy was I suprised when I saw my little man on the Advertisements!! Petsmart used three different shots, and they are super adorable! Here are the wonderful shots they used:
The gorilla shot is so cute! and I adsolutely love the picture where he is bowing with the duck =o)
Here is Jesse with the advertisements (they aren't as clear since the battery kept dying on us!)
Jesse did absolutely fantastic at the photoshoot back in June, and I am so proud of him =o) Now the store associates call him famous when we visit Petsmart, and he was even recognized from the paper! So we showed off some of his tricks, and they were very impressed ;o)
We have been practicing for our the Mighty Dog taping (which is coming up very soon!), and Jesse has got his part down pat =o) He just keeps amazing me with his talents and personality. We'll keep you posted!

Jesse appears on Good Morning AZ & Arizona Midday!!

Today Jesse was requested to appear on Good Morning Arizona and Arizona Midday!! So we headed out early in the morning. We arrived at the news station much earlier than our call time, so we took some pictures by the sign for the news station.
Then after Jess relieved himself, we met Jasmine at the entrance to the building, with her her human CJ. Jesse was very interested in her, and after they said hello, we went inside. We all hit it off right away, and got to know a little bit about each other. We then got some shots of Jesse and Jasmine together, and some of all four of us. CJ even took a picture of Jesse, Ashley, and Me =)
Here Jesse and Jasmine strike a pose:
Look at them, they are so photogenic! =)
We then headed into the news room where we were going to be interviewed live. Jesse looked around the set, and we practiced some tricks to get him familiar with his surroundings. He really liked the red couch, and looked adorable posing on it for me =) Here he is behind the scenes, and on the couch:
Then we were hooked up with microphones, and practiced what we were going to be doing on air. Jasmine and Jesse both sat up beautifully, and in-sync with each other. Then we did the interview!
Here is the news cast for Good Morning Arizona:
After the news cast, we headed on over to the Big Studio... Where we got to take pictures with Carrie Underwood, and Barack Obama!!
BOL! They were wax figures, but still, it was AWESOME!! =) They looked so real… We had a lot of time before we had to be at the Studio for the taping of Arizona Midday, so we went to Wag ‘N Wash with CJ and Jasmine. I got Jesse some treats, and then we headed to Subway to get some lunch. Once there, we were going to get lunch, and eat outside, but Ashley asked the store manager if we could bring them in. She told them that they are well behaved, clean, and were on the TV this morning… They said YES!! So Jesse and Jasmine got to eat inside Subway with us!! Here is my little man in Subway:
And here he is pretending he is illegal =)
While we ate, we all talked, and found out that both Jesse and Jasmine are represented by A-1 Animal Talent! We then talked about tricks, media work, and trick dogs =) After we finished up our lunch, we headed on over to the 12 News Studio for the taping of Arizona Midday.
We got checked in through the security gate, and then headed on into the green room. We were there a few hours before our taping, so Jesse and Jasmine played with their toys, and even chased each other around a bit =) Jesse and Jasmine then practiced some of their tricks, and we took some pictures of them together.
I groomed Jesse a bit, and then we took them out for a potty break before their live taping! Then we headed into the room where we were going to be interviewed. We were told that they had baby tigers on the floor earlier that day, so Jesse was really interested in the fake grass! Then we were live! Poor Jess, something with about the fake grass made him super itchy, and he was scratching for over half of the interview =( Here is the news cast for Arizona Midday:
After the interview, Jesse was absolutely exhausted!! We headed on home, and he was out cold for the rest of the night =) It was so awesome to meet CJ and Jasmine today, and we both want to get our pups in commercials and in movies. I have no doubt that we will be seeing Jesse and Jasmine both in the lights =) They are both so very talented.
I am VERY proud at how awesome Jesse did today! He is my little sweetheart; I love you Jesse, and Sweet Dreams =)

Movie Dog Contest Winner!!

The Contain-a-pet Movie Dog Contest narrowed the contestants down from over 500 entries, to the 15 finalists!! Jesse made it into those finals, and was crowned the winner unanimously by the judges as the Movie Dog Contest winner!! The winner of the contest gets $1,000, with half of the money going to the charity of the winner's choice (Richmond based charity so Jesse's chose the Richmond Animal League), and the other half goes to the winner... Jesse!! We entered a 1 minute video showing off Jesse's amazing talent, and wonderful personality. The judges loved Jesse's entry, and said that one of the most important reasons they chose him was because they could clearly see that he enjoyed performing his tricks, and was having a great time =) You can check out the information and Jesse's video by heading on over to the FamilyDogDigest website, at http://www.familydogdigest.com/ to see Jesse on the main page!!
"Here's my check!"

So I asked Jesse what he's going to be spending it on, and he said...Squeaker balls, and Cuzzies!! Yep, he's my little squeaker-addict, but I love him to peices =) Congratulations Jesse, you deserved it =)

Our 4 year Anniversary! JRT Fun Day

Happy 4 year Anniversary Jesse!
4 years ago today, I brought home a little 8 week old, 2 day, white ball of fur =) It is hard to believe we have been together for so long! So since today was such a special day, what better way to celebrate than going to a Jack Russell Terrier Fun Day? We got up super early, gathered up in the car, and headed out to try and beat the heat. This fun day was the last one the AZ Jack Russell Rescue is going to have until the Fall, since the AZ summer is ridiculously hot! When we pulled into the Rescue, and headed on behind the barn, Jesse knew exactly where we were! He got to race, lure course, and even do barn hunt! He had such a wonderful time =)We met up with Zin and Eddie (they are the two JRT puppies we trained in our Puppy Class). We also met up again with Woodroe =) He is Jesse's nephew. Jesse's dad, Derek, is Woodroe's Granddad. I was so excited when we first met them back in October of 2008, since he is the only JRT we have ever met that is related to Jesse!! His human Mom, Michelle, also has another JRT, Gus, who is a smoothie from the same breeder. Woodroe looks so much like Jesse, the could practically be brothers ;) Here are some picture's of him, his mom, and Gus:

Michelle, Woodroe on the left, and Gus.

Gus and Woodroe walking on the pool deck.
Gus and Woodroe chilling out by the pool.
Woodroe playing with a Cuzzie! Jesse absolutely loves these toys, and he even nibbles off their feet too =)
Isn't Jesse so cute in this picture?
Gotcha!
This isn't Jesse, this is Woodroe =) They look a lot alike huh? Jesse looked just like him when he was that age =)
We both had a blast today, and I am so grateful to have my little heart dog, Jesse. My life has never been the same! I love you Jesse =)
Stay Happy and Healthy!,
~Heather and Jesse~
P.S. Jesse got his own e-mail, so if you have any questions or would like to contact us, you can do so at: justjesse197@yahoo.com

My 20th Birthday: Wildflower Cafe!

I turned 20 today!! I got Jesse when I turned 16, so we have almost been together now for 4 years!! Our 4 year anniversary is coming up, and we are planning on going to the last Jack Russell Terrier Fun Day of the spring (more coming in the fall). So for my birthday, Jesse went with me along with my family to the Wildflower Cafe! He absolutely loved the Potato Cream Cheese Bread Bowl, and gobbled up some of the turkey from my sister's sandwich =) It was a gorgeous evening. For desert we got a ginger cream cheese cake slice, and Jesse loved that too. He's my little gourmand! We played some hide-and-seek, and went for a nice long walk. My sister put together a beautiful movie of Jesse for a birthday gift from Jess, and she even put it on a DVD. So we watched the DVD while we ate our dessert, and I loved it. =) She did an excellent job on the video. Thank you so much for making this day so special Jesse, Ashley, Mom & Dad, we had a BLAST! We took a ton more pix, but here is one for now! More will be posted soon, and I will be putting Jesse's video on his Youtube page in the future. Stay Happy and Healthy! ~Heather and Jesse~

Happy Easter!!

HAPPY EASTER!! Jesse and I went for a nice Easter walk in the desert. We headed for a stump for the backdrop of the photoshoot we were planning on taking. The stump gives access to a beautiful crisp blue background, without any desert scenery in the shot. So we headed out with Jesse's little Easter bandana on =) We made it to the stump, and Jesse sniffed around at the mouse holes while Ashley was taking pictures of Kaine. Then a long cry peirced the air. I was about to laugh because I thought it was another one of the kids pretending to howl, then more yips and yaps joined in. We looked up from where we were, and across the road there were at least 5 coyotes circling, and singing to each other. The sound was very eirie. Jesse started to grumble, and woof at the things. I didn't want the things approaching us, so we got out of their fast!! So we took the pictures at the park behind our house, and this is how they turned out: Jesse's smile is so cute in this picture =) Jesse's serious picture :/ Now Coy ;) Inquisitive:?
Happy that he killed the rabbit tug! See the fur on the bottom of his jaw?
We tried getting a shot of Kaine and Jesse together sitting up, but in each shot one of them did something funny =) Jesse looks gruff in this one:
Jesse kisses! =)
We then tugged a bit, and Jesse chased JW around. Then headed home for some chewies!
Ashley thinks Jesse looks evil in this picture. Don't worry, he's just lickin' his lips!!
Happy Easter!!
Stay Happy and Healthy,
~Heather and Jesse~

Happy 4th Birthday Jesse!!

HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY!!
Jesse turned 4 today!! I can't believe we have been together for so long =) Jesse has had some wonderful accomplishments, and it is a pleasure to have shared them all with him. For Jesse's Birthday, I made him a homemade cream cheese cake, and he absolutely loved it! I also planned a lot of fun games and activities, including: Balloon Pop, Skateboard Racing, Water Bucket racing, Agility, Soccer, D.O.G., Fashion Race, Water Balloon Shuffle, Sunglasses Relay, Chase-a-ball relay, and much more!! Jesse had a blast playing all the games against Kaine. Jesse got a ton of presents aswell. He went crazy for his rubber cuzzie, squeaker balls, JW Amaze-a-ball =) He was exhausted by the end of the day, and was very happy to stretch out next to me on the couch. Happy Birthday little Squeaker!!
